Heavy Rains Cause Sewage to Fill a Basement in Modesto
After heavy rain, sewer systems often are overwhelmed and cause flooding. The flow of excess water causes sewerage to back up into the home. This usually happens when water pours into the system after heavy rain and the water tables are raised.
In this case, the flooding to this sewage-filled basement in Modesto, CA was the result of a broken mainline attached to the sewage pipe from the pressure of the water from the storm. The sewage flooded the basement and was about 1 1/2 feet deep.
SERVPRO of Manteca and Modesto's staff restored the basement and the customer was very happy with the results.
